The oldest and newest plates on the road today.
Oldest, newest, shortest, longest ... it's a regular Guinness Book of Alaskan license plates.
Have you spotted a plate that's older or newer? Send me a note and/or a picture! Note: Submissions should only be of plates on the road, not from eBay or personal collections.
In some cases, we have spotted newer plates, but don't have a photo yet. The caption below each plate photo will let you know what plates to look for.
Right now, the only prizes are glory and the glow that comes from enjoying the companionship of your fellow inmates, but if I get enough responses, I'll consider some license-plate paraphenalia as reward for particularly desirable lows or highs.
You can also register the latest Alaskan plate you've seen at licenseplates.cc.

The personalized plate that translates to the highest number of words would be here, if I'd found one; if you've seen one or have one, send me a photo!
