To minimize bandwidth and to conserve disk space, I have included one plate from each prefix set (BAx, BBx, etc.) wherever possible, as well as other plates of interest. I am usually also on the lookout for an example of each prefix (BAA, BAB, etc.), though I do not display them all here.
Somewhere between BKU and BLG, the flag became much sharper and clearer, and the stars got substantially larger:
Credits to Dave Nicholson for first noticing this in July 2007.
The BTH series marks the end of the first font; BTJ marks the beginning of the blockier font that continues until the end of the CBY series. The current font begins with CBZ.
The following prefixes were deliberately excluded from the Bxx series:
BAB BAD BAG BAN BAR BAT
BED BEG
BLA
BRA
BUG BUM BUN BUS BUT
BVD
There are no BY- or BZ- plates. I have not yet asked the DMV why.
Missing: [BBx] [BGx]
